Persephone, as everyone knows,<\/p>\n

Had hard-won<\/p>\n

the right to depart Hell for six months of the year.<\/p>\n

But Hades imposed restrictions.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

She could only leave by river,<\/p>\n

For the Styx connects all water cities,<\/p>\n

especially those involved in finance.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

And Cerberus had to accompany her at all times.<\/p>\n

So as not to shock mortals with his three mouths,<\/p>\n

accommodations had to be made.<\/p>\n

Cerberus took the form of two watchdogs,<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The goddess’ ritual tattoos were concealed,<\/p>\n

And the fiery hair simply turned red.<\/p>\n

Yes, Persephone was in Geneva on September 20th<\/p>\n

We saw her on the shores of Lake Geneva.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

She was looking at the lake,<\/p>\n

And her smile was sad.<\/p>\n

She pondered the world she would lose tomorrow.<\/p>\n

But she was pleased to be free,<\/p>\n

And she relished every moment.<\/p>\n

She knew she’d be back with the spring.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The chant of hope<\/p>\n

The myth of Orpheus and Eurydice<\/p>\n

Is inscribed in time, like a refrain<\/p>\n

that repeats itself, tirelessly,<\/p>\n

from age to age, century to century.<\/p>\n

The names change, but the story remains the same:<\/p>\n

Love, loss, despair,<\/p>\n

And then, hope, always hope.<\/p>\n

Guido, troubadour and artist in the Switzerland of 2023,<\/p>\n

Has lost his muse Loretta, his beloved. Desperate he is, but not in surrender. <\/p>\n

He knows that love is stronger than death,<\/p>\n

And he’ll do anything to find her.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Persephone, constrained wife of Hades,<\/p>\n

takes pity on him.<\/p>\n

She gives him a chance.<\/p>\n

By opening one of the gates of hell,<\/p>\n

For a handful of seconds only.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Guido must hurry<\/p>\n

He takes a deep breath,<\/p>\n

And launches himself into the darkness.<\/p>\n

He sings, and his song is so beautiful,<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

That the gates of hell open wider.<\/p>\n

Guido runs,<\/p>\n

And Loretta is already right behind him.<\/p>\n

He’s almost there, he can make it.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

But then he hears a voice.<\/p>\n

“Guido, don’t look back!”<\/p>\n

He panics…<\/p>\n
